When lonely farmer Chris Lowe (William Hartnell) marries a chorus girl from the big city (Carol Raye as Molly Lowe), things go downhill fast. Bringing Molly to the farm, Chris fears she will get restless, and so buys her a strawberry roan calf to care for. Adjusting to rural life and a small community proves difficult, and Molly never settles into farm life. She begins to spend money to excess, deeply hurting Chris financially.
